Ruth has fifteen years of educational experience and a deep passion for quality Jewish education. Ruth earned her Master’s in Education from Mercy College and is certified in both general and special education for children birth through sixth grade. She worked as an early childhood teacher for ten years and went on to earn a second Master’s degree in Early Childhood Leadership from Bank Street College. Upon graduation, Ruth joined Bank Street as an educational coach. Most recently, Ruth served as Director of Teacher Support at Beth Rivkah in Brooklyn. Ruth is also an adjunct professor at Concordia College’s graduate education program and facilitates professional learning sessions for schools as a private consultant and for Bank Street’s Education Center.

Ruth’s educational philosophy is grounded in the belief that nurturing environments carefully designed to engage the innate curiosity of children enable all learners to flourish. She is enthusiastic about employing the tenets of early childhood education – such as hands-on exploration and student choice – to math and literacy instruction and is passionate about interdisciplinary learning. Partnering with families and the broader community has been central to Ruth’s educational practice and one which she is looking forward to continuing at Tamim Academy NYC.
